What is Season 9 about?
In FBI Season 9, the show’s premise remains the same: the New York field office investigates major threats including terrorism, organized crime, and counterintelligence. Season 8, however, ended with a major shake-up involving Special Agent OA Zidan (Zeeko Zaki).
WARNING: Spoilers ahead! In the FBI Season 8 finale, “Defector,” OA is apparently fired by Assistant Director in Charge Lawrence Green (Curtis Cook) for protesting the cover-up of a virus outbreak, which ultimately positions him to go undercover against Anna Vorpe (Claire Coffee) and her strike team. Showrunner Mike Weiss indicated that OA will operate in a different capacity in Season 9 rather than simply returning to business as usual. Season 9 opened with the team’s normal dynamics disrupted, particularly Maggie and OA’s partnership. Zeeko Zaki remains part of the series.
What happens in the Season 9 premiere?
The premiere of FBI Season 9 is titled “Rendition.” It sees the team investigate the death of a young traveler who witnessed the execution of someone connected to a top-secret government-sponsored project.
