What is Season 2 about?

Season 2 follows Danny Reagan as he contemplates a step up in the rankings at the police department, and a future with Detective Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) in Boston. Lena deals with the aftermath of being shot in the Season 1 finale, family drama fallout after learning about her birth father and half-sister, and the outcome of Detective Brian Rodgers’ (Ryan Broussard) car crash.
The Season 1 finale, “Patrol,” ends with a massive cliffhanger as a truck blindsides Brian, and his car crashes into the water. Season 2 picks up a few months later. In “The Crash,” we learn Brian’s fate: He survived! (He’s dealing with trauma, and lingering physical ailments, but he survived!) Through all the life changes and drama, the Reagans and the Silvers grow closer as they tackle big moments and carry on their families’ legacies.
